In the spirit of accessibility, a sliding scale is optional for the Homebirth Prep class. Sliding scale is 8% of your Homebirth Services Fee — no more than $300 and no less than $150.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer a sliding scale for the NB class at this time.

Early-Bird Registration

If registration and payment are received 6 weeks before the start of a class, you qualify for the early-bird rate! If you qualify, please apply this discount to the total due.

Important Information

To reserve a space in the class, complete this Class Registration form AND send the non-refundable deposit to the office. The remaining portion of the fee is due in-full no later than two weeks before the class start date. If it is not received by that time, your spot in the class may be given to another family. You are welcome to pay in full at this time.

Fees

The total fee for the Homebirth Preparation class is $300, $75 for the Newborn Prep, $35 for the Postpartum Prep.

The non-refundable portion for the Homebirth Prep class is $150, the Newborn Prep is $40, the Postpartum Prep is $35.

Please apply an early bird discount to the total if you register and submit payment 6 weeks before the start of any class. The early-bird discount for the Homebirth Preparation class is $25, the Newborn Prep is $20.

There are several ways to pay:

Send a check or money order via snail mail to 4547 San Carlos Ave, Oakland, Ca 94601 and make it payable to “Awakenings Birth Services”

OR

Send a payment using the app “Square Cash” or “Venmo” using the email midwives@AwakeningsBirthServices.com. You will need to download the applicable app to complete this process.

OR

Request an invoice, and we’ll send you one via email. Then select the green button labeled “View Invoice.” Follow the steps to pay electronically directly through your bank. You will need your bank’s routing number and your account number.

Registration for the class closes two weeks before the start of the class. If at this time, there are not a minimum of 4 registered participants for the class, the class may be cancelled and I will be notified. I will receive my fee back in full.

Cancellations made by me, two weeks before the start of the class will receive the fee back in full less the non-refundable deposit.

Once class has begun, no refunds are warranted, even if the baby has been born before the end of the series.

If the baby is born before the start of first class, I will receive the fee back in full less the non-refundable deposit.

For no other reasons will funds be returned.

Additional Requirements and Information about the Class – Please READ!

Esther is on-call 24 hours a day to attend births and care for clients. In the event she need to be with a family, she will e-mail or text you as soon as she knows there will be a conflict. Please check your e-mail before coming to class, and make sure the information given is the best way to reach you and/or your partner (if applicable) under this circumstance.

Classes are located at Esther’s home office off High Street:
4547 San Carlos Ave, Oakland, CA 94601.

Doors will open at 8:45 am. Please allow ample time to find parking and get settled so that we can start on time.

If you are in the Homebirth Prep class, please be sure that you and your partner have done your best to read Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth before class has started.

If you are in the Homebirth Prep class, please both you and your partner, each complete the Homebirth Prep Class Questionnaire.

In order to meet the individual needs of the participants, it will be very helpful to have some information in advance. This is for you and your class partner to fill out on your own, as you two have different needs and expectations. Please send it via snail mail, fax or email no later than one week before the start of the class. I hope these questions will also serve to stimulate your own thoughts and feelings about this truly amazing upcoming birth.
