Loss: Miscarriage & Abortion

Sometimes people need to consult a midwife during an impending miscarriage, a sudden miscarriage, or when planning an abortion. We call this loss here, even though there may be better words to more accurately describe your experience.

Sometimes people need physical support during the laboring/letting go process.

We are here for you.

We offer an array of options depending on your needs, and always have a followup conversation after a loss is complete:

• A one-time consultation
• On-going communication and one in-person visit during a miscarriage or medicated abortion
• A comprehensive package of on-going communication and in-person visits
• A facilitated letting-go and body care session after a loss.

Given there is sometimes little to no advance warning, please call us and we will be with you as soon as we are able. If this is urgent, please call the Direct Line.

We cannot prescribe medications for an abortion. We cannot perform an abortion by mechanical means. We can offer midwifery care, though.
